7th grade art
7th Grade Art focuses on art production, art history, art criticism, and aesthetics. Students will get to experience a variety of art making mediums, including drawing, painting, ceramics and sculpture. Students will also learn about artists, art genres, cultures that relate specifically to the art making projects themselves. Required materials for this class are a white drawing book, two #2 pencils, and an eraser.

In this drawing project, students will learn observational drawing skills that apply concepts of proportions, value (light & dark), and perspective in order to create the most realistic artwork possible. |

Project Description:
In this sculpture project, students create a clay mask through various surface decorations and vibrant glazing techniques. Students will also show an understanding of Mexican culture by learning about the celebration Day of the Dead. |

Project Description:
In this mixed-media project, students will use shrink art and other various materials to construct their own original sculptures. The artwork seeks inspiration from the contemporary glass blower Dale Chihuly, who's colorful and massive installations are famous world wide.

In this painting project, students will create a self-portrait utilizing color mixing techniques and color theory concepts. Students will also show understanding of art history content, including Fauvism and Henri Matisse. |

Project description:
In this drawing project, students design their own nature inspired costumes using gradient techniques with color pencil. Students also show understanding of science content such as anatomy and proportions.
